My friend Nanka took this picture in a huge empty shipyard. The sunlight was streaming through the shattered roof and drew lines inside the three huge connecting halls which were surprisingly clean and orderly. On one end we found these rusty boats floating in the air like parts of a gigantic mobile. They seemed to be mimicking the rusty pulley in the foreground reminding us of former busyness.<\/p>\n

Is it a work of art? An aesthetically appealing installation it is for sure. One that must not have been designed with viewers in mind: you only stumble upon it accidentally if you happen to drive down a dusty dirt path on the little island of Caprera, Sardinia, and push open the squeaky iron gates. These three gigantic gates open to a wide concrete ramp which leads into the water. One can imagine the shiny new boats that once were launched here to start their voyage in the mediterranean sea.<\/p>\n
