Birthday in Corsica

Gabriela and I got up early to  walk along the cliffs  and get a great view off the old town of Bonifacio.

The anchor chain pulls you up and down in the water when there are lots of waves. This is at Cap Corse with 25 knots of wind.

The last day as an 11 year old: playing in the waves on the West Coast of Corsica.

My family surprised me setting up the birthday “table” behind a dune on the beach. They rowed me there and I was wondering where the gifts would be.

Midday of my birthday we lifted anchor and sailed the one hour further North to Saint Florent. There we went for ice cream and had dinner in a nice French restaurant. Guess what I had: frog legs. They were really good!

  1. What a great adventure to sail into your 12th birthday, SOL!
Have a great new year, lots of fun and great new sights!

Age 12 also marks astrologically your ‘1.Jupiter return’ (every 12 years): an age that is excellent for travel, adventure, new understanding. It’s a year of growth!
    Enjoy!

  3. Oscar wants to know what were the presents that Sol received? He is intensely curious about what is inside the wrapped boxes!

And he says Happy Birthday Sol!

  4. Hi Adventurous Family! Sol, thank you for letting Oscar know what you got for your present. We have been away in Edmonton but are now back and I see you are still having a great time on your home away from home.

Did you remember that today is the first day of school here in Victoria? Oscar was VERY sad to see summer end but he surprised all his friends at school because they thought he was moving to Edmonton and then there he was at school!

It poured and poured rain here and then cleared up in the afternoon, which was perfect as most kids only had a half day at school.

I hope the good winds will be with you and that your fall is a beautiful one in the Mediterranean.
    Thinking of you!
